ProShield epoxy is a product of Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings

Superior Durability for Demanding Environments

ProShield Floor Epoxy is a high-solids, solvent based two-part epoxy that has stood the test of time in various challenging environments from crocodile pens, abattoirs, garages, workshops, storage facilities and residential floors. This resilient protective layer for concrete and cement surfaces cures to a hard, gloss finish, offering good impact resistance, hot-tyre resistance, exceptional resistance to water absorption and chemicals and as a result, provides superior performance over many water-based paints in a wide range of applications.

ProShield Floor Epoxy is suitable for solvent-sensitive areas and can be cleaned repeatedly with water and detergents without loss of gloss or hardness. The coating offers very high stain-resistance against typical automotive-related chemical spills e.g. oils, hydraulic fluids, grease, fuels etc.

Bond-Strength and Coating Thickness

Bond-strength tests performed with minimal surface preparation (detergent wash only) on smooth unabraded cement surfaces resulted in substrate fracturing in all cases under test. The coating fracture level was tested on a strong cement substrate with coating “breakage” occurring at 3 MPa (435psi), well above the general industry standard of 1.17MPa (170psi).

This epoxy solution for floors is not intended for casting thick floor linings, but for application as a protective coating. One to three layers are normally applied depending on the level of usage anticipated.

Our Topcoat is a high-solids formulation that utilizes only a 6-10% solvent content to aid towards easier application. The product is rolled on by hand, using short-pile rollers, leaving a hardened and resilient epoxy layer that will last for many years.

The top-coat is a two-part resin and catalytic hardener combination that cures into a smooth, glossy finish that is resistant to UV radiation, high stain-resistance and hot-tyre resistance.

Proshield Epoxy Primer is available as an undercoat on more challenging substrates and offers increased bond strength on very dense of damp surfaces. It will help expell air from porous or pitted substrates and reduces the propability of bubbles and pin-holes forming in the final epoxy layer.
